Viscosity Cups
 If
your quality procedures are based on the time-honored Zahn Signature
test, these S90 dip cups from Paul M. Gardner Co., Inc. are what
you need. Precision machining and state of the art quality control
minimize
cup to
cup variability. The calibration (tolerance +/- 5%) of these
improved versions of the classic Zahn cups matches the earlier
Signature series. Thus, they do NOT meet drain time
specifications for ASTM D4212!
Each cup comes with a conversion chart for drain time in seconds
vs. viscosity in centistokes. Additionally, charts are available
to convert S90 viscosity cup data to ASTM D4212 data, enabling
a switchover to D4212 methodology.
Use calibration oils to assure
continued accuracy. Never use silicone-based oils to calibrate
viscosity cups; they leave a residue that alters performance. S90
Signature Series dip cups qualify for certification under the requirements
of MIL STD 45662A or ANSI/NCSL Z540-1.
